It feels like yesterday….
In the summer of 1990 Jos introduced me to his biggest passion.
The love of sailing runs through his life from the times of his father Bert crossing oceans in cruise ships, and open boats in the Dutch inner waters, up to maneuvering our willing family through Caribbean coral reefs.
We started our off-shore sailing adventures in 1995 with Guapa, which took us to England and North European coastal waters.
For the following 25 years child-friendly tropical destinations on charter boats alternated with closer to home trips on the Seabee.
When Jos and I carelessly stepped together on that little boat in 1990, little did we know that it was the beginning of a life-long journey taking us to Sunriser, our new sailing home.
Now we embark on our most ambitious sail, destination unknown. You can follow us here or in my sketchbook, but we would also love for you to join us sometime, somewhere.

Beatriz Montero (Spanish, 1966) has been living in the Netherlands for over 30 years and worked as a patent examiner in the European Patent Office.
Jos Overbeek (Dutch, 1965) has worked for KPMG and the last 25 years as an independent IT management professional.
Most of all we are proud to be parents of our 2 wonderful daughters: Julia (1997) and Esther (2003).
