After a Christmas holiday in between Delft and Madrid we left a snowy Delft and flew to Panama City.

Before going back to the boat we stayed a couple of days checking out the charming old town of Panama city with view on the new part. Interesting details is that there are many buildings with little more than a facade. Where in many instagrammable places they have colourful umbrellas hanging in some streets, in Panama these are Panama hats.

We visited the canal museum which was very interesting, but the canal itself was surprisingly boring; no boat passing or any other kind of activity taking place.

The bio museum has some interesting architecture.

As a bit of a spoiler for us we visited the molas museum, which is a craft from people from Guna Yala, also known as by the Castillian name of San Blas, a place we will be sailing to next.

At the marina in Isla Solarte we spent some days making the boat ready. We noticed that, after a bit more than 3 years of relentless sun, salt and constant use, things are starting to break. We had our mainsail bag fixed where all stitches were replaced (and lost many ballbearings of 1,15 euro each in the process), we fixed the watermaker, installed the replacement starlink, installed a new fan (the third, the others rusted resulting in rust particles flying around instead of air). We also introduced further improvements like a coat for our dinghy and a herb garden (with artificial light as the normal light is too strong).

After provisioning we are now ready to continue our journey to the San Blas islands.
