In Brest we had some crew changes for the stretch towards La Rochelle. As we were ahead of schedule, we decided to do only daytrips and take some more time to visit the places. We visited Audierne, Port-Tudy on the island of Groix, Le Palais on Belle Ile, Port Joinville on Ile Dieu and finally Sables D’Olonne.

Having only a few hours of daylight at each place we could only visit some of the highlights, but often the best highlight was a nice terrace with a beer. However in Sables D’Olonne we visited the L’ile Penotte, where artists have made beautiful wallpaintings from seashells.

The new crewmember, Till, brought his drone with him. The weather was very light in the beginning of the week so we used the ‘iron sails’ a lot. Perfect for flying the drone, but not so good for the quality of the pictures. However, later in the week there was enough wind to sail and use the drone.

This provided us with some excellent photo’s and some nice video’s.

And another video on my FB page: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0VopzGoKtxAud1FDpKVmbdDsMRLPZ5NawiL98cy5XXC63HwhVuyRV4TwXg2XmN2GBl&id=1123935585

We arrived in La Rochelle on Monday 25 September and are staying in the Vieux Port. The timing is excellent, as this week storms and lots of rain are passing by. Saturday Beatriz will arrive and the predictions for the week after are much better. From then we will write this blog together again.
