Today, the last day before we set off on holiday, we installed the solar panels. To make a frame that holds the panels and can withstand a major storm at sea took most of the work. It was a bit last minute as last week during fitting we found out that the design needed to be changed.
Today the installation and the wiring went well. We had the MPPT’s (making the changing voltages of the solar panels into useable 48V for the batteries) already installed in France by Pochon. So today was just connecting the wires and do some tests. It are 5 panels of 400 Watt each, so 2000 Watts in total. Together with the 500 Watts on top of the helm position we hope to be able to live without having to use fossile fuel for electricity.
This was the last big job before our holiday starts. So coming weeks we are going to test all the new systems.
Bonnes vacances!!!
